relocate: A Relocation/Immigration Reference Site for Readers in Mainland China

I started this project for two main reasons:

1. I had an earlier, now-archived project called whichcity. Its original goal was to help people quickly understand and compare cities (cost of living, employment, healthcare, and so on), but due to data licensing issues I eventually decided to archive it. relocate is a piece carved out of that project, with very strict constraints set from the start: every piece of content has to be backed by a snapshot or archive from an official government website or document.
2. My own family is considering emigrating, and I wanted a place that aggregates relatively detailed, authoritative information, so I wouldn't have to be led around by the nose by various immigration agencies.

In this project, information is organized by pathway. For example, a page like "Canada · ICT Intra-Company Transfer" gathers everything I've collected on that particular route. By now the project covers something like 20 pathways across different countries.

The repo is fully public — you can find the rules, scraping scripts, document archives, and other materials there.
